About Rulestack
Rulestack is an index of EU and UK financial services regulation, organised article by article. For each article of an EU text it gathers everything that hangs off it and sets the UK counterpart beside it.
Who it is for
Financial services lawyers, compliance teams and regulatory consultants who need to see, in one place, the Level 2 measures made under an article, ESMA’s Q&As and guidelines on it, the consultations that concern it, and where the UK now stands.
What it is not
- It is not legal advice and not an official source. The authoritative texts are the Official Journal of the EU (EUR-Lex), legislation.gov.uk and the FCA Handbook.
- It does not reproduce legal texts or documents. Every item links to its official source, at the deepest level the source supports.
- It is independent and not affiliated with or endorsed by the EU institutions, ESMA, HM Treasury, the FCA or any law firm.
How it is made
The index is built automatically from official sources and refreshed regularly. Links are taken from the sources themselves where possible, and inferred links are labelled with our confidence. Short summaries are written by an AI model and labelled as such. Nothing is added by hand, with one kind of exception: a few links that no source states outright, such as which FCA rules restate a revoked UK MiFIR article, are recorded in our configuration with the evidence they rest on and labelled “Curated”. Corrections and takedown requests are the only other manual changes. See the methodology for the detail.
